On The First Day of Christmas…

Friday, November 11th, 2011 No Comments

That time of year is fast approaching again, 6 weeks to go! The TV adverts are starting, tinsel is making it’s return appearance in the shops and everyone is talking presents…well presents and turkey.

It’s around that time now where you are either thinking…should I get the shopping done in the next couple of weeks to make sure it’s done. Or, like me, your thinking goes more along the lines of “ahh there is still plenty of time”.

Which ever one of the above relates to you I still find, that when it does come the time for buying, that there are really only 3 categories of people you buy for.

The first being as soon as you think of them, you know what they will like and you have a clear idea of what you can get. The other is when you think of the person, you have no idea what they will like and your mind draws a complete blank when it comes to what you can get them. Lastly…you have the odd few ppl that you don’t really want to buy for…yet every year you still seem to be exchanging gifts regardless.

It’s the 2nd and 3rd category that seems to cause the blind panic when it creeps it’s way to Christmas Eve. And then what seemed like a good idea at the time, of leaving them for last until you figured out what you wanted to get them, suddenly doesn’t seem like the best way to have gone.

Now last minute gifts are always difficult…a few options for you. Head to the nearest garage (just like that classic episode from Friends) Pick up some windscreen wash, a tax disc holder or maybe a shammy cloth and hope for the best. Or…and I definitely think this option would go down better then the previous idea… and that is to turn to the good old world wide web and find one of the very few companies that provide Instant Vouchers that can be provided via email within minutes of processing your payment. They are very few and far between…and the important thing when purchasing in this way, at such a late stage, is to make sure you know what you are buying, how long it lasts and where they will be valid for.

Obviously this form of voucher buying isn’t only for the last minute purchase. You will find that you can get the vouchers posted out, gift wrapped or even, like we can do, attach the voucher to the end of a massive balloon in a box.

Take the vouchers that we sell as an example. The only one of it’s kind and the perfect solution for anyone that you need to buy for. This voucher is the Daddy of all vouchers…seriously. An Activity Passport valid for 12 months, for over 900 venues across the country and over 60 adrenaline sport activities. Impressed? Well we guarantee the recipient definitely will be.

These vouchers can be purchased over the phone, online, posted, emailed instantly and, if you really want us to, we could even send them via carrier pigeon (terms may apply)

So for your vouchers with a difference select one of the options below and get that gift sorted.

Your Views / Feedback / Opinions

Any views, comments or feedback about paintball are welcome.

One topic in particular that I feel, by the sheer volume of feedback we have recieved, needs discussing is buying tickets from street sellers. How you know that you aren’t being ripped off, how you know it’s safe to buy (handing over card details to someone in the street) and what precautions you should take.

How can you trust that you are actually getting a deal…or infact that you are getting anything at all for your money. You only have to do a quick search online to see a string of feedback regarding experiences with buying paintball from street sellers. Unfortunately each one showing street sellers for paintball and the experience in a very negative light…with people posting things like ” ripped off” “waste of money” and “ruined birthday”.

Let us know your thoughts on this but 2 tips we can provide on making sure any paintball experiences that you buy are not going to end in disappointment.

Make sure you know all the information of what a day involves…the most important being the usage of paintballs needed in a day. Something we have encountered while out and about is that a percentage of people we spoke to had, unsurprisingly, been approached before by other companies. The difference being that the sheer lack of correct information provided when they had been was mind blowing.

Thinks to know and remember

  • 100 paintballs will not last your session. Judge your day and spend on 100 paintballs an hour. Depending on how trigger happy you are.
  • Make sure you have all the information of how to book the vouchers in before buying…as there will definately be a cost involved in that process when whoever has the vouchers does decided to book them in. This information should be all printed on the vouchers…so make sure you read it all to understand the process.
  • Before handing card details over, make sure you are definately talking to a representative of the paintball company they claim to be from. Don’t be embarressed to ask for ID…after all these are your card details.
  • Lastely… make sure you get a receipt as you have legally got a cooling off period after purchasing the vouchers where you are able to then return the vouchers for a full refund.

Don’t get me wrong… This is not a downer on street selling, as there are reputable companies out there…giving the correct info…giving the deal they claim to be. The above is merely an advisory of things to check off the list before buying.

Reball – The World’s Newest Action Sport

Monday, May 16th, 2011 No Comments

Live action combat gaming is one of the UK’s most popular social events. But as videogames improve, becoming ever more real and intense, it’s up to combat sports to stay with the times and drag people off their sofas and into live action games too.

Most of us love to play the gun-toting action hero, whether that gun is loaded with an infra red laser, or BB’s or even paint. Now you can load your gun with rubber balls and carry out Black Ops mission, full of heart pounding close quarters combat.

Reball is a mission-based team combat sport, just like paintball, quasar and airsoft, but these pistols and rifles fire rubber balls, and the play is ten times more extreme.

Based on SAS conflict scenarios, Reball transforms you into a battle-hardened tactical unit, complete with authentic gear, and deploys you into movie quality environments; bursting to life with lighting, sound and smoke effects.

Would you like to take part in an exciting Reball session? Do you know anybody that might? Maybe you’re one of the lucky few to have already tasted the action. If so, the Go Ballistic team want to hear from you.

Go Ballistic’s Top 5 Irish Action Heroes

Thursday, March 17th, 2011 No Comments

It’s St Patrick’s Day, but if there’s one thing the Go Ballistic team like even more than a pint of the black stuff, it’s a large helping of action. We love it! We can’t get enough of it! We like to get right smack into the thick of it. But the thing about splattered paintball war zones is, sometimes, they’re closed.

So, once the last paintball has been blasted in anger, we get a shot of adrenaline watching awesome Hollywood action movies.

To celebrate St Paddy, we’re counting down our favourite trigger-whacking, name-taking, baddie-beating movie stars from Ireland.

These lads are the real fighting Irish, and we’re happy to sit back and watch them busting heads long after the 17th of March.

5. Jonathan Rhys Meyers

frompariswithlove-rhysmeyers-560-thumb-560xauto-29148

Wait! Come back! We know, we know, young Jonathan’s not exactly what you had in mind when you hit a link about action heroes. But this real life bad boy is starting to forge a mammoth Hollywood career and there have been a few butt-kickers among his recent roles.

A tumultuous upbringing included a spell in an orphanage and permanent expulsion from school at the age of 16. Rhys Meyers never went back, but he never looked back either.

Following humble beginnings in a TV advertisement for soup, the interesting actor has consistently nabbed screen roles and in recent years has helped Tom Cruise beat the baddies in ‘Mission Impossible III’ and helped John Travolta do it in the brainless but brilliant action movie ‘From Paris With Love’.

Keeping company like that means Jonny Boy could probably walk into any Scientology tea party that he wanted to. One thing he hasn’t had the chance to do is walk into a Michael Bay style Hollywood explosion-fest. But he is quoted as saying he’d like to.

We’re sure it’s only a matter of time.

To see Rhys Meyers in action click here.

4. Gabriel Byrne

gabriel_byrne_vilian

One of a number of famous actors born in Dublin, Gabriel attended a seminary for five years of his childhood and trained to become a Catholic priest. In an eclectic early life, he found the time and inclination to be an archaeologist, a cook, a bullfighter and even a Spanish schoolteacher before kicking off his acting career at the ripe old age of 29.

He started in swashbuckling style as Lord Uther Pendragon in John Boorman’s round table epic, ‘Excalibur’ and would later play master swordsman D’Artagnan in ‘The Man In The Iron Mask’.

Then, smouldering Mr Byrne traded swords for guns in awesome movies like ‘The Usual Suspects’, ‘Miller’s Crossing’ and the remake of ‘Assault On Precinct 13’.

The guy’s even kicked Arnie’s ass, playing Satan in ‘End Of Day’s’; which definitely makes him worthy of the list.

3. Pierce Brosnan

brosnan-goldeneye-560

Born in Ireland, partly raised in England and now officially half-American, Brosnan has lived many blokes dream by taking on the role of globe-trotting super-spy James Bond in not one, not two, nor three but four massive movies.

And the actor has a permanent souvenir of his time in the tuxedo, which takes the form of a scar on his face, picked up from a stuntman while filming ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’. The action might have gotten a little too real, but buff Brosnan lived to tell the tale. We’re sure it couldn’t have been as painful as Pierce’s singing in the ‘Mama Mia’ movie, anyway.

He’s had his fair share of battles to overcome, has the boy from County Meath. Uprooting to London at the age of just 10, Pierce became the target of school bullies, standing almost six foot tall at a very early age.

What’s more, he might have achieved 007 status much sooner if plans to cancel the actors hit TV show ‘Remington Steele’ been followed through. Instead producers had a last minute change of heart and the role of Bond went to Timothy Dalton.

But the actor wasn’t shaken or stirred and would eventually fulfil his ambition. It almost seems he was destined to, when you consider that the first movie he ever saw, the one that convinced him he wanted to be an actor, was in fact Sean Connery’s ‘Goldfinger’.

2. Colin Farrell

in_bruges-1

Another native of Dublin, and once seen treading the quaint country lanes of British telly’s ‘Ballykissangel’, Farrell is now a fully fledged movie star.

He broke onto the world stage with Joel Schumacher’s ‘Tigerland’, and even managed to make a blockbuster movie out of a guy standing in a phone box (in the movie ‘Phone Booth’).

Since then the former real life bad boy has kicked screen ass for Hollywood royalty like Steven Spielberg (‘Minority Report’) and Michael Mann (‘Miami Vice’), and partnered the biggest movie names while doing so. He played Al Pacino’s highly skilled, gun-toting protégé in ‘The Recruit’, and played Samuel L. Jackson’s number one S.W.A.T team guy, in an explosive action movie about S.W.A.T team guys, imaginatively titled ‘S.W.A.T’.

He’s even managed to show off his comedic chops, as a bumbling hitman in the hilarious ‘In Bruges’. Colin won a golden globe for the performance, and he also got to run around a famous European city with a gun, which is a must for action heroes.

He continues to nab huge Hollywood movie roles and in 2012 will hit our screens as the lead in a remake of Arnie classic ‘Total Recall’.

It takes a big, brave man to fill the Schwarzenegger shoes. Colin Farrell is just that. But please, don’t mention ‘Daredevil’.

To see Colin doing some great action-packed punching and shooting stuff, click here.

1. Liam Neeson

liam-neeson-taken

Ballymena boy Liam Neeson was once a forklift truck driver for Guinness, an assistant architect and even an amateur boxer and he put the latter to good use in the blisteringly brilliant, head smashing action flick ‘Taken’.

The tall, strapping Northern Irishman has enjoyed a glittering career accentuated by weighty, acclaimed roles, and has played a number of real historical figures in huge movies such as ‘Schindler’s List’, ‘Rob Roy’ and ‘Michael Collins’.

But in recent years Neeson is enjoying something of a renaissance as a full blown Hollywood action hero. He can be seen dishing out pain in ‘Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace’, ‘Batman Begins’, ‘Taken’ and even the remake of ‘The A-Team’, in which he played the cigar-muching, butt-kicking, day-saving Colonel Hannibal Smith.

The actor has played cinematic tough guys for the likes of Spielberg and Scorsese and brings authenticity and genuine toughness to each impressive role. Next up he’ll take on a pack of blood thirsty wolves in Alaskan plane crash chiller ‘The Grey’.

Interestingly enough, while he makes it to the top of our list, he hasn’t always enjoyed the luck of the Irish when it comes to winning movie parts. He missed out on playing the giant, Fezzik, in Rob Reiner’s adaptation of ‘The Princess Bride’, because at only 6’4” he wasn’t anywhere near ‘giant’ enough. The role eventually went Andre Rene Roussimoff, a man more commonly known as Andre the Giant.

There you have it! Go Ballistic’s Top 5 Irish Action Heroes.

Wishing you all a very happy St Patrick’s Day! Have fun, drink responsibly and leave the bar brawls and action scenes to the guys in the Hollywood hills.

That is unless you want to engage in electrifying team military simulations in any of our stunning purpose built paintball battlegrounds. We offer top-notch facilities all over the UK, giving you the chance to be the hero of your own action story.

Young Guns Paintball

Tuesday, September 7th, 2010 No Comments

Step one: unplug the TV.

Step two: surgically remove the games console control pad from kid’s hands.

Step three: replace it with a semi-automatic paintball machine gun.

Step four: let your miniature Rambo run amok at one of our brilliant paintball venues, with our Young Guns packages from £19.50 per child.

These packages make a thrilling gift and are the perfect introduction for your kid to the UK’s fastest growing adventure sport. Many people worry that our teenagers aren’t getting enough exercise or fresh air. A great paintballing experience takes care of both of these things. Plus they’ll be taking part in the best kind of exercise there is: the kind they don’t even realise they’re doing because they’re having so much fun. It’s definitely more fun than any shoot-em-up video game. And let’s face it, in what other circumstances would it be acceptable, encouraged even, for your children to shoot their friends while getting covered in paint and mud.

The reason it’s ok here is because our sport promotes teamwork, communication and strategy, as well as moderate physical fitness.

The object of a paintball game isn’t to attack the enemy, it’s to complete the mission, and the guys will have to devise a plan to do so and then work together to carry it out.

This means your kids can let off steam and cut loose without getting into any trouble, and at the same time they’re developing skills that will prove important to them in later life. We’re not just teaching them how to shoot one another. We’re teaching them how to work together, how to think creatively, how to communicate their ideas and how to shoot one another!

Best of all, paintball is not a divisive activity. If a kid is overweight, a bit skinny or a bit clumsy, they may not be able to happily and successfully participate in conventional sporting events such as the regular team games promoted in school. This can lead to exclusion or even bullying.

But Paintball can be played and enjoyed by anybody regardless of these things. Your kids will have a blast and feel part of the group, and that may be the most important outcome of all.

Aa young guns package at £19.50 per child includes:

  • 200 paintballs
  • 1 half days play
  • Multiple missions
  • Use of 1 semi automatic machine gun for duration of play
  • Use of freshly laundered combat overalls for duration of play
  • Experienced and uniformed marshals for duration of play

We offer these packages at Europe’s busiest paintball sites and all of them are UKPSF registered, one of the reasons that we’re currently the UK’s number one choice for paintball events.

We take health and safety very seriously at each of our sites. The kids will get all the safety equipment they need, plus a full safety briefing before they get their paws on a paintball gun and start shooting. What’s more they’ll be supervised by our expert staff at all times. These highly trained marshals are child-friendly and engaging. They add to the overall experience that the kids enjoy.

It’s exciting, it’s fun and it’s safe. Young Guns paintball events are perfect for children’s birthday parties, but with our prices you needn’t wait for a big occasion. There’s never a bad time to bring your tiny terrors along for the games.

These Young Guns packages are not available at all of our paintball venues nationwide, but the friendly and helpful Go Ballistic team can make sure you choose a venue that do. This information is also available through the website.

The minimum of age for participants is 12 years, and it is illegal and irresponsible to allow younger children to play.  All children under the age of 16 must provide a parental consent form before taking part. Some venues may set higher age requirements. Consult our website or call the team 0844 745 5000  for further information regarding this.

Corporate Paintball Events

Monday, September 6th, 2010 No Comments

Paintball is quickly becoming one of the nation’s most popular corporate hospitality events.

This is largely because, while extremely fun, and a chance to break out of the typical working environment, paintball actually encourages many qualities and skills necessary to a thriving business. This exciting action game promotes team building, communication, organisation and strategy.

A paintball event will consist of a number of games, each with its own mission, in which everybody works as a team. The two opposing teams develop strategies for their respective briefs and then attempt to execute them as a group. Paintballs are used to eliminate enemy players and thus reduce their overall contingent and hamper their chances of completing a mission. The key to winning the vast majority of paintball games is not a gung-ho, free-shooting offensive, but methodical planning, tactics and team work.

Because of this, paintball events are seen as being very beneficial to your company, as well as tremendously exciting and morale boosting.

It is difficult to find an activity in which every member of a varied workforce will happily participate. Paintball is a wonderful leveller as every individual can take part on almost equal terms, regardless of age, size or gender. The degree of skill involved is not as specific as other sports, such as football or golf. Nor is a high level of fitness crucial.

This means that your team gain the opportunity to connect with members of the organisation they may not previously have had the opportunity to, or see a more relaxed side of those that they have.

The majority of paintball arenas are outdoor, but there are some indoor facilities available around the country. Paintball, however, is not greatly affected by adverse weather conditions and your event will continue as planned but for extremely bad weather, which is deemed to be hazardous by the site officials.

Paintball venues are divided into gaming zones. The amount of gaming zones, and the nature of the games carried out within them varies from one site to the next.

Because of the sport’s growing popularity in the corporate sector, an increasing number of facilities offer meeting or conference areas. This means that an exhilarating paintball battle can provide the perfect tonic to a pressing business engagement.

The helpful and informative team at Go Ballistic will be able to provide specific information concerning which sites nationwide can cater for your specific requirements. This information is also available via the website or by calling 0844 745 5000.

Contrary to some people’s beliefs the shot of a paintball marker is infrequently painful, but the anticipation of the hit produces adrenaline and heightens the sense of excitement and adventure during the game.

Whichever site is chosen to host your event, a great emphasis will be placed on the safety of your team. Expert safety marshals are employed at every venue and oversee all of the thrilling paintball games carried out.

Paintball markers, masks and overalls are provided as standard while certain venues may also offer additional protective clothing. Lunch is also catered for full day event packages.

Whatever the nature or size of your business, a corporate paintballing event is the perfect way to boost morale and encourage values that could have a positive impact upon your business. You may even get the chance to shoot your boss!

Go Ballistic’s Paintball Q&A

Friday, August 20th, 2010 No Comments
In the paintball firing line!

In the paintball firing line!

Paintball is your chance to be a full-blown, take-no-prisoners, shoot-first-ask-questions-later action-hero! However, some paintball rookie’s out there might want to ask the odd question or two before they shoot. So here’s a quick-fire question and answer sesh that’s sure to turn you from coward to commando in just a few minutes.

What should I wear?

All paintball combatants are required to wear a protective mask at all times and often overalls to protect any clothing. Mask and overalls are supplied by the paintball facility and frequently additional gloves and body armour can also be rented.
Any budding soldier of fortune is going to want to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and comfortable shoes. Ignore anybody who suggests wearing lots of layers to nullify the feeling of taking a hit. The best way to avoid the feeling of getting hit is not to go paintballing in the first place! But then you’d miss out on all the breathless action and insane amounts of fun and excitement!
Too many layers are sure to make you less agile, and much more hot and sweaty. Wear comfortable clothes that allow a lot of movement, as you’re likely to spend most of the day running, rolling, ducking, diving, squatting, strafing and generally cutting loose and having a great time! You want to be able to do so as easily as possible!
The same applies to footwear. A comfortable training shoe will suffice, but you may wish to opt for more ankle support and cushioned sole, given the relentless activity. A light hiking boot is perfect. The heavier and sturdier the boot, the more it will limit your movement.

How old do I have to be to play?

As with many action sports, age limits can differ from one provider to another. But miniature militants are generally welcomed! Some venues set a minimum age limit of 12 years, others 11 or 14. All players under the age of 16 years are classed as minors and are required to wear full face protection by law, though this is strongly advised to adults anyway. Minors are also required to submit a parental consent form before taking part in war games.
It should be noted that age limits are not strictly representative of the levels of danger and harm involved in game play. Age restrictions are imposed due to the levels of mental duress that players may experience. Even an adult may experience feelings of fear when encountering a horde of enemy players with all guns blazing, and these feeling may be magnified in a younger player.
If your kid wants to hit the war zone but you’re unsure how they would react, why not visit a local paintball centre and let them view the game in action before placing a booking?

How fit do I need to be?

You don’t have to be built like Arnie to enjoy a paintball game…though it couldn’t hurt your chances! But this shouldn’t prevent you from taking part in this thrilling activity.
Physical fitness is relative when it comes to paintballing, because you get out what you put in. Instead of being the most active player, just try to box clever. Play to your fitness levels.
As with any sporting activity, all players should stretch and warm up thoroughly before taking part. This will help to prevent injury during the battle that ensues, as you’re far more likely to be injured by a pulled muscle than a killer paintball. This can easily be avoided, however, with some gentle preparation before the game.
If you’re fitness levels are extremely low, you may wish to consult a physician before participating. You may also wish to inform the owner of the facility of any medical conditions or allergies that you have.

Does paintballing accommodate Stag or Hen Groups?

Paintballing is a fantastic experience for stag and hen parties. It is a chance to cut loose, go crazy and make a mess…the direct opposite of the formal stuffiness of the marriage ceremony!
As increasingly adventurous stag and hen groups look for more exhilarating pursuits than the bar/pub crawl, paintball is establishing itself as a stag and hen night favourite. It’s a no-holds-barred action spectacular, which gives you the chance to bond with your mates in exciting combat scenarios…and also pummel them with pump-powered paint!
Many of the venues available through Go Ballistic offer exclusive Stag Hunt and Hen Fight packages. These events include special offers on things like paintballs and smoke bombs, but also involve special treatment for the stag or hen in question!
Some venues offer a typical paintball package along with an additional bonus game in which the stag is chased into the woods by his ‘friends’. Can he avoid the shower of paintballs? And if he can’t, will he take anybody down with him? This is great way to give the lucky guy one last hazing on his second biggest day.
But it’s not just the guys having all the fun. Paintball is becoming increasingly popular as a way of raising the curtain on hen parties too! As a break from the norm paintball combat is hard to beat. It’s a chance for any lovely lady to let her hair down and unleash her inner G.I. Jane!
You may even wish to organise a Hen vs Stag event, though that might place the whole marriage in jeopardy.
These activities are offered in full or half day packages. Full day events include a complimentary lunch.
The helpful guys at Go Ballistic can provide all the information you need regarding venues around the UK and the events that each of them offer. They can also put together packages which include transport, accommodation and additional events in the area, such as karting, shooting and many many more. Guys might want to wash away the paint marks with an awesome water sport event, while what better way for the girls to recover after battle than coupling it with a luxury day spa experience. Give us a call for more details.

How long will a paintball session last?

Exact game times will differ from one venue to the next. In general, however, you can expect most paintball games to last for 20 to 30 minutes with 10 to 15 minutes break between games.
A typical half day session should last around 3 hours, while a full day session around 5 hours 30 minutes.
More than enough to single-handedly win the battle and the war!

How many games can I expect to take part in?

A frantic paintball session is generally made up of 5 or 6 games for a half day session and 10 to 12 games for a full day.
Each game features different objectives for both teams, in which they will be required to demonstrate stealth and strategy…oh, and fire as many balls of paint at the enemy as they possibly can!

Will we have exclusive use of the gaming area?

Only extremely large groups may enjoy exclusive use of the battleground. Paintball is an expansive team game played over a large area and there is more than enough room to accommodate large teams.
Plus the more guys that are involved the more targets you’ll have to shoot!

Does it hurt?

This is the question on every newcomer’s lips. The answer is simple: sometimes.
Usually, you’ll feel a slight sting when you take a hit. This sensation only lasts a matter of seconds, and is similar to a firm flick or pinch.
Paintballs can cause some small bruising depending upon the distance from which they are fired, the speed that they travel and the area of your body they hit. The amount of pain also depends on how you’re dressed. When the pellet breaks and splatters, the degree of pain is not as great. A paintball to bare skin is likely to bruise, but simply wearing a long sleeve top will likely avoid bruising to the areas it covers.
The thicker the clothing that you decide to wear, the lesser the effect of the paintball, but thick clothing is cumbersome, awkward and very hot. A loose outer layer will generally absorb the majority of the impact and most paintball establishments provide camouflaged overalls which will do this job for us. You may also decide to wear gloves as a shot to bare hands will definitely hurt.
Your head is protected by the mask and goggles provided and stray pellets to this region will not be felt.
Basically, throughout the day you can expect to feel a moderate amount of pain. But this really is half the fun! It is the fear or anticipation of the physical pain that pumps adrenaline through your body making this one of the most exhilarating games that you can experience.

How many paintballs will I need?

If Rambo liked the game, you could probably paint a small house with the amount of ammo he’d get through. The rest of us, however, should be able to get the most out of this thrilling action sport without breaking the bank.
On average, a player uses between 400 and 800 balls during a full days play or 300 over half a day.
It all depends on your style of play. The more methodical and stealthy soldier will conserve more ammunition than the loose-cannon paint-splattering maniac! You are the only one holding your paintball gun and you decide how many paintballs fly out of it.
The itchier that trigger finger of yours, the more you’re going to need!

Can we buy extra paintballs on the day?

If you waste more paint than a modern artist, you are able to purchase ammunition as and when you need it. All paintball establishments will offer better deals if you buy your balls in bulk ahead of the event.
The Go Ballistic team will be able to fill in you in on exact details regarding prices at your local venue.

Can I bring my own paintball ‘marker’ and paintballs?

Marker is the industry term for the pistol-like contraption that propels your paintballs. Whether or not you are free to use your own is at the discretion of your chosen paintball venue. Feel free to take it along and allow them to check it out. If they’re not happy for you to use it, they’ll provide you with another marker on the day.
Your munitions will have to be purchased from the facility. You’ll have to save those home-made paint pellets for target practice on the neighbour’s cat!

Will food and drink be available?

A light lunch is available for a full day’s battle and most venues also offer some snacks and beverages.
Speak to the Go Ballistic guys or check out the website for specific information about each venue.

What happens if it rains?

You get wet.
The game isn’t greatly affected by the rain (which is a relief considering we get so much of it) and games will go ahead in the vast majority of weather conditions. Rain can potentially fog a player’s mask, but as the games are played out largely in wooded areas, they are shielded from the elements to an extent. While the games are played mostly out of doors there are sheltered areas at base camp where the players can take cover from the rain during the intervals.
Generally, the game will go ahead so long as you and your party are happy to yourselves. You should also be aware that rain may be considerably heavier in your area than at the site.
