On The First Day of Christmas…

Friday, November 11th, 2011 No Comments

That time of year is fast approaching again, 6 weeks to go! The TV adverts are starting, tinsel is making it’s return appearance in the shops and everyone is talking presents…well presents and turkey.

It’s around that time now where you are either thinking…should I get the shopping done in the next couple of weeks to make sure it’s done. Or, like me, your thinking goes more along the lines of “ahh there is still plenty of time”.

Which ever one of the above relates to you I still find, that when it does come the time for buying, that there are really only 3 categories of people you buy for.

The first being as soon as you think of them, you know what they will like and you have a clear idea of what you can get. The other is when you think of the person, you have no idea what they will like and your mind draws a complete blank when it comes to what you can get them. Lastly…you have the odd few ppl that you don’t really want to buy for…yet every year you still seem to be exchanging gifts regardless.

It’s the 2nd and 3rd category that seems to cause the blind panic when it creeps it’s way to Christmas Eve. And then what seemed like a good idea at the time, of leaving them for last until you figured out what you wanted to get them, suddenly doesn’t seem like the best way to have gone.

Now last minute gifts are always difficult…a few options for you. Head to the nearest garage (just like that classic episode from Friends) Pick up some windscreen wash, a tax disc holder or maybe a shammy cloth and hope for the best. Or…and I definitely think this option would go down better then the previous idea… and that is to turn to the good old world wide web and find one of the very few companies that provide Instant Vouchers that can be provided via email within minutes of processing your payment. They are very few and far between…and the important thing when purchasing in this way, at such a late stage, is to make sure you know what you are buying, how long it lasts and where they will be valid for.

Obviously this form of voucher buying isn’t only for the last minute purchase. You will find that you can get the vouchers posted out, gift wrapped or even, like we can do, attach the voucher to the end of a massive balloon in a box.

Take the vouchers that we sell as an example. The only one of it’s kind and the perfect solution for anyone that you need to buy for. This voucher is the Daddy of all vouchers…seriously. An Activity Passport valid for 12 months, for over 900 venues across the country and over 60 adrenaline sport activities. Impressed? Well we guarantee the recipient definitely will be.

These vouchers can be purchased over the phone, online, posted, emailed instantly and, if you really want us to, we could even send them via carrier pigeon (terms may apply)

So for your vouchers with a difference select one of the options below and get that gift sorted.

Your Views / Feedback / Opinions

Any views, comments or feedback about paintball are welcome.

One topic in particular that I feel, by the sheer volume of feedback we have recieved, needs discussing is buying tickets from street sellers. How you know that you aren’t being ripped off, how you know it’s safe to buy (handing over card details to someone in the street) and what precautions you should take.

How can you trust that you are actually getting a deal…or infact that you are getting anything at all for your money. You only have to do a quick search online to see a string of feedback regarding experiences with buying paintball from street sellers. Unfortunately each one showing street sellers for paintball and the experience in a very negative light…with people posting things like ” ripped off” “waste of money” and “ruined birthday”.

Let us know your thoughts on this but 2 tips we can provide on making sure any paintball experiences that you buy are not going to end in disappointment.

Make sure you know all the information of what a day involves…the most important being the usage of paintballs needed in a day. Something we have encountered while out and about is that a percentage of people we spoke to had, unsurprisingly, been approached before by other companies. The difference being that the sheer lack of correct information provided when they had been was mind blowing.

Thinks to know and remember

  • 100 paintballs will not last your session. Judge your day and spend on 100 paintballs an hour. Depending on how trigger happy you are.
  • Make sure you have all the information of how to book the vouchers in before buying…as there will definately be a cost involved in that process when whoever has the vouchers does decided to book them in. This information should be all printed on the vouchers…so make sure you read it all to understand the process.
  • Before handing card details over, make sure you are definately talking to a representative of the paintball company they claim to be from. Don’t be embarressed to ask for ID…after all these are your card details.
  • Lastely… make sure you get a receipt as you have legally got a cooling off period after purchasing the vouchers where you are able to then return the vouchers for a full refund.

Don’t get me wrong… This is not a downer on street selling, as there are reputable companies out there…giving the correct info…giving the deal they claim to be. The above is merely an advisory of things to check off the list before buying.

Paintball Stag Parties

Sorting out your mate’s stag do can be a living nightmare but it doesn’t have to be! There are literally loads of activities you can arrange to celebrate the groom’s last few weeks (or maybe even days) of freedom.

Paintball, karting, 4×4 driving and quad biking are all perfect for a group of lads who want to pit their wits against each other before drinking themselves into a stupor all night!

And with stag do activity organisers used to the unique challenge of providing high jinks for blokes, you can be sure that it’ll be a day to remember before the tone gets lowered in whatever lap dancing joint you end up in.

Why not make a weekend of it by going karting in the Saturday before hitting the nightclubs in the evening. Then get out of bed early and work off your hangover with a day of paintballing in the woods. Surely their can be no better pick-me-up than stocking up on ammo and covering your mates with as much paint as possible? Or why not try things the other way around?

Go Ballistic paintball sites always welcome stag parties because our site marshals know exactly what they are looking for! Stag hunt games are specially designed to inflict as much good natured misery on the stag as possible although it’s always in great fun!

Organising things couldn’t be easier as well because Go Ballistic has saved you the time and trouble of putting together invites. Simply click the ‘Organiser Downloads’ link in the menu on the left of this page and download away!

You’ll find posters and invites that can be customised to your exact requirements so that the event will virtually sort itself out, leaving you free to concentrate on the more important things in life like drinking and lap dancing.

The main thing to remember is that Go Ballistic’s sites offer a range of different paintball experiences and the vast majority of them are within easy striking distance of a town or city that can provide you with all the nightlife you could possibly ever want.

Gone are the days of the all-day pub crawl and the late night curry after you’ve hit the clubs. Stag dos have changed so you’d better go with the flow!

Go Ballistic understands that you want a great activity to set you up for a night of fun – so why not try paintballing when you celebrate your mate’s last few days of freedom? You may never get the chance again!

Paintball Hen Parties

Monday, October 26th, 2009 No Comments

hen-party

Paintball has never been more popular for hen dos as hundreds of brides-to-be and their mates head into the woods for some good clean fun with a load of paint. Rather than being content to totter around town sipping alcopops through straws, girls these days are pushing the barriers of the traditional hen do.

And organising a hen do with Go Ballistic couldn’t be easier by making use of the ‘Organiser Downloads’ link in the menu to the left of this page. Over there you’ll find posters and invite forms specifically designed to make the task of getting everyone together a whole lot easier.

By making use of these downloads the hen do will virtually organise itself leaving you free to think of what you’re going to get up to later on in the evening. Male strippers, nightclubs or a quiet meal; the choice is yours after you’ve worked up an appetite out in the paintball fields.

Long seen as a lads’ day out, paintball is changing and becoming far more attractive for groups of girls who want to get their hands on weapons, paint grenades and smoke bombs.

In fact, paintball has never really been about charging through the woods like Sylvester Stallone in ‘Rambo’, it has always been far more tactical where guile and cunning tend to beat gung-ho macho tactics.
If a hen party is big enough then they should be able to sort out an exclusive game, but surely part of the fun is to mix in with another group and enjoy a real day to remember.

Most paintball marshals (they’re the guys who run the games) will be experienced in sorting out scenarios for hen parties, so the bride’s every whim can be well catered for on the day.

And who knows, when the real action starts in the pub at night you’re sure to have some real tales of courage and bravery to remember before the night descends into a blur of white wine and male strippers!
So girls, get down to the woods and get dirty, while also keeping your conscience clean (if you want to)! Happy paintballing!

Organising a Work Event

work-event

Ever wanted to get even with your boss without getting fired? If that’s the case then look no further than a day of paintball because you can get away with it – all in the name of fun. And there’s not a damn thing your boss can do about it!

Getting your workmates together for a day of bonding can prove to be more problematic than you’d think though because you possibly need to cater for people of both sexes, different ages and probably different fitness levels.

So what activity can you arrange to suit everyone? Well, that’s up to you but here at Go Ballistic we reckon you could do a lot worse than paintball. The game of paintball is a great leveller where brains can compete with brawn on an even playing field.

We’ve made it as easy as possible to organise a trip out to the woods. Simply click the ‘Organiser Download’ link in the menu on the left of this page and download away!

In that section of the website you’ll find a works do poster and invite form which will make it dead easy to advertise the day and invite all of your work buddys. All this means you just have to worry about turning up on the day and enjoy giving your boss a real pasting!

Aside from developing teamwork, increasing communication and breaking down barriers, paintball is great fun which effectively moulds its players into efficient teams. And all of this will pay dividends when you get back to the office by giving the whole place a real lift.

Why not organise a meal to follow where work colleagues can carry on letting their hair down over a few quiet (and then a few noisy) drinks?! It’s amazing how quickly people come together during a day of paintball which can only be good news for the boss.

And let’s face it, he’ll probably need some good news after becoming everybody’s target for the duration of the day. Why not make him your ‘VIP’ in a game where you have to escort him to safety or protect him from the enemy? He’ll get an ego boost out of it and you might even get a pay rise.

All in all, paintball is just a great social activity and is ideally suited to provide office entertainment. And when combined with an evening function it really provides a talking point. You never know, the boss might even pay for it on ‘expenses’ as well! Happy paintballing!

Paintball: Office Wars

office-paintball

So you’ve decided that the office needs an injection of fun, but have no idea how to go about arranging it. You’ve got to cater for men and women, all age groups, and possibly some colleagues who you’ve never spoken to in your life!

Sound familiar? Well, don’t worry because it’s probably the same story in workplaces all across the country.

The difference is that you’ve decided to do something about it – and you could do worse than arrange a day’s paintballing.

Rather than just being an indiscriminate running battle through the woods, paintball can offer you and your fellow workers so much more. Scenarios in various game zones all have different rules and objectives which means good team work will be essential in order for a mission to be successful.

A common mission may involve stealing your opponents’ flag and returning it to your home base – something that is virtually impossible unless everyone combines as one cohesive unit.

And when your office is working as a team, they are communicating and bonding in ways that just don’t happen when people are hunched over their PCs. You’ll also be away from the pressures of the daily grind which will really blow the cobwebs away.

Seeing people in a different environment also means you’ll start to see them in a different light. The most unlikely of colleagues may emerge as natural leaders or motivators which is something that can be taken away from the day.

And, afterwards, there’s the very real chance that everyone will take their experiences back to the office which can only be good for efficiency, harmony and team spirit which, let’s face it, will do company profits no harm whatsoever.

You’ll also give people the chance to bring the boss down a peg or two which is always nice! So what do you reckon?

Paintball Birthday Parties

Friday, October 23rd, 2009 No Comments

birthday-paintball

Birthdays have a nasty habit of creeping up and taking you by surprise but it doesn’t have to be that way. If you get organised and, more importantly, get your mates organised then you too could be enjoying a paintball day to remember.

As a birthday activity paintball is second to none. The game really comes alive when groups of mates pit their wits against each other while the boy or girl of the moment enjoys special missions designed specifically for the occasion.

And it couldn’t be easier to get everyone together out in the woods. Go Ballistic has produced posters and party invites to make it dead easy to organise the event. Simply click the link in the menu on the left of this page and download to your hearts content!

Of course, we’re not claiming that paintball is the only way you could celebrate the passing of another year, but it’s certainly one of the best. All that fresh air and exercise will give you a real appetite for the end of the day when it’s time to hit the pub or get stuck into your birthday cake.

Sometimes it’s easy to forget just how many mates you’ve got so make sure you send out plenty of invites so nobody is left out. Paintball is the very definition of “the more the merrier” and you can never have too many people watching your back when the paint starts to fly.

Whatever happens, it’s bound to be a day to remember, with enough thrills and spills to keep you going until your next birthday! The vast majority of paintball venues will cater for your birthday party needs as well.

The fact is that paintballing is one of the most exhilarating activities known to man but be warned, it’s seriously addictive so you’re bound to be back for more!

So, if your birthday’s coming up, why make your present a trip down to the woods with your mates? It certainly beats ‘Pass the Parcel’ or ‘Musical Chairs’ for a game of soldiers!. Happy paintballing!
